The Tecomec Jolly Star is just the 511AX but red and cheaper. I have the Jolly Star, 511Ax and the Stihl USG. All very good tools. I like my USG mostly. The Oregon/Tecomec 511ax/Jolly Star/Speedsharp is a fine grinder for personal use. Its weakness is a fragile vise that breaks easily if the operator is a klutz. Your brother will have to decide whether that is a concern in his line of work. The Oregon 511a is not the same, completely different vise, not as accurate, but probably more rugged.
